The system provides both transmit and receive audio capability at the helmet headset. Mobile radio transmissions using the headset are activated by a handlebar mounted push-to-talk (PTT) switch. A second PTT switch at the handlebars allows activation of the motorcycle siren public address (P.A.) system, allowing the officer the ability to broadcast from the helmet microphone to direct traffic, for example, without removing his hands from the handlebars.
