This Portable Radio Interface System is designed to accommodate officers who work exclusively with their portable radio, both on and off the motor, and have no need for a mobile motorcycle-mounted radio. The System allows operation of the Portable Radio as a normal “handheld” with both transmit and receive capability while the Adapter is attached. Receive audio is muted at the Portable and communications re-direct to the helmet only when the helmet is connected to the adapter.
